  1. Honesty in what I share

    The numbers I put in are the numbers I have. If a system disappointed us, I say so plainly rather than protecting a vendor relationship or my own decision. A directory of tactful half-truths would be worse than no directory.

  2. Generosity with what I know

    What my ministry learned the hard way, I pass on. Somebody spent months and money finding it out, and the Kingdom is not a competition. What cost us a year can save the next ministry a quarter.

  3. Confidentiality with what is entrusted

    What I read here stays here. Pricing, contracts, staffing troubles and the things people admit about their own systems do not leave with me. Not to a vendor, not to a conference stage, not to a colleague who is not a member.

  4. No prospecting

    I will not pitch in the community, use the directory as a lead list, or take a commission for a referral. Answering a question because I know the answer is the point; answering it to open a sales conversation is not. If my commercial position changes, I will say so before I post again.

A note from Marc

I run IronSharp Technologies, a consultancy for ministry IT. Some of you will end up as clients, and that's part of how this community stays free. So here's the line I hold myself to: I do sell, just not in here. Nothing anyone shares in this community decides who I approach, and I don't pitch inside it.
